ARTHUR MURRAY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Have a question and want to get in touch with your local Arthur Murray Dance Center? Give us a call or drop us a line!
  • Q. CAN I LEARN TO DANCE?
    A. Dancing becomes easy and fun the moment you begin dance lessons with one of our friendly Arthur Murray experts. Hundreds of thousands have already learned to dance the Arthur Murray way. You do not need to bring a partner to learn and enjoy dancing in any of our studios.
  • Q. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR ME TO LEARN?
    A. You will be able to begin dancing after your first lesson. The length of your training depends upon how many dances you would like to learn and how proficient you would like to become in each dance.
  • Q. HOW QUALIFIED WILL MY INSTRUCTOR BE?
    A. All of our dance experts must complete a very arduous training regimen.
They are experienced on the dance floor and are knowledgeable in techniques that will help you master today’s popular dances. Rest assured that the teachers selected for you are the best in the business.
  • Q. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO TEACH US?
    A. The Arthur Murray system of teaching is a proven system that has been developed and constantly improved for over 100 years. We not only teach you to dance, but more importantly, we teach you how to use your dancing. Our certified instructors are specially trained to make your lessons fun and easy to follow. The hardest part about learning to dance is to take the first step and try it.
  • Q. HOW OFTEN SHOULD WE COME IN?
    A. The first four to six weeks are the most critical. You’ll learn fast but you’ll tend to forget faster. Continuity is very important. This is where your hard work will pay dividends in the end. We recommend a minimum of one unit of instruction per week (personal, group and practice sessions). This is can be done in one visit or two, depending on your schedule. Developing a good foundation at the beginning is essential to becoming a comfortable dancer and you will thank yourself later for the rewards.
